It was a nice day in gud ol Glasgow. Aishah wanted to go hillwalking... we needed the exercise The initial plan was to go to Ben Lomond...checked the website... Difficulty: Hard, Ascend time: 3 hours... hmm... nahhh... Then we found this place. The Whangie (pronouced Whan-ngey), it is basically two walls of rock and you can walk between them. however, you do have to hike a few miles to get to the place....

It was really sunny. Very harsh lighting for photography... forgot to bring my ND filters. Didn't get many good pics of the whangie itself..quite hard to photograph it. Anyways... here are some pics of Aishah, Jimala and me..waddling to the Whangie

April Fool's Day!!! 7 years ago on this day I was doing so many silly stuff... even got myself public-caned for it. nearly got suspended from school as well...ahh good memories

Anyhoo... for this year, I opted to go up to Glasgow to visit La Fiance. We actually went to Dumbarton castle on the 2nd of April.. I was too tired from travelling on the 1st, and Aishah had to work.

Here are some pics from the trip. It was a bit cold and the weather was a bit gloomy, hence lots of B&W and Sephia photos. Not much sun to bring out the colours of the surroundings. Dumbarton castle is abt 20 mins drive away from glasgow...near Port Glasgow. There isn't actually a Castle there..only a few small buildings...but placed on the awesome Dumbarton Rock.

Road Tripp! One last journey before I go back to Southampton... So we took a drive early sunday morning to Bracklin Falls...North west of Glasgow. It was cold...but not too cold. just nice I guess. Took a few nice pics...saw a wild deer while we were walking to the falls. Unfortunately the bridge tht croses the falls was broken down by flood a few weeks before, hence I couldnt get a picture of it... anyhoo...it was a nice day out, we ended up in Dundee afterwards...kaco Melo.

Maroon 5 - Sunday Morning

Sunday morning rain is falling
Steal some covers share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in
But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
And I would gladly hit the road get up and go if I knew
That someday it would lead me back to you
That someday it would lead me back to you

That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave

Fingers trace your every outline
Paint a picture with my hands
Back and forth we sway like branches in a storm
Change the weather still together when it ends

That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave

But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
Sunday morning rain is falling and I'm calling out to you
Singing someday it'll bring me back to you
Find a way to bring myself home to you

And you may not know
That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow?

Here are some pictures during our stay in Siem Reap. There lots of rustic ethnic small bars throughout Siem Reap. They are all very relaxed, with nice music and comfy chair and really dont mind you sitting there for hours even if you only bought 1 coca cola or even water! few of my favourites were Angkor What?, Laundry bar (1st drink free before 9pm), Le Tigre de Papier (comfy couch and big screen tv) and The Blue Pumpkin (not a bar...a bakery. the upper level is unbelievable. imagine a longggg single bed stretched along the whole length of the room, and converted into a sofa with breakfast in bed tables. so nice, n comfy!) Obviously we had nothing much to do at night so walking around and chilling was the main thing.

The second half of my clinical elective was spent in Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap with Ilyaas. It was a great experience and such an eye opener. Cambodia is one of the poorest SE Asian country. Siem reap is the 2nd largest city next to Phnom Penh and to be honest it is pretty small. Most of the locals stay out of cities. Profits from rice farming generates the main income.

The hospital that we were attached to is completely dependent to donations. It was started by Kenro Izu, a world renowned Japanese photographer. He published his pictures and produced a photo book especially for the children of Cambodia. The money generated was used to build the hospital and start a charity organisation for the hospital, Friends Without A Border (www.fwab.org) Here are some pics around the hospital.

We met so many people, local and foreign volunteers throughout our stay in Siem Reap. There was Ben from California who is staying there for 6 months, Kate the dental student from Uni of Dundee, Maria the physiotherapist from somwhere in Austria , Daniel the photographer from USA as well, David Shoemaker from Canada who is practically staying there now, Mach the librarian cum Khmer teacher cum tour guide cum national football player etc etc etc etc, Arun and Mom who were so helpful all the time, Dr vuthy, Kazumi and lots of other staffs who showed us so much during our attachment. It was very nice to see all of you and thanks a lot for everything
